The loom is a machine for weaving, built with wood or metal, in which parallel threads are placed, called warps, which must be held on both sides to tighten them (a function that weights usually perform) and by means of a mechanism, these threads are raised individually or in groups, forming an opening called openwork, through which the weft passes. It can be handmade or industrial. Handlooms are classified into three main families: frames, vertical and horizontal. Industrial looms are classified according to the type of fabric they produce; there are flat, circular and triaxial looms.
